Any ideas what this is?

Here is a small hitch hiker that we haven't been able to identify. We are not even sure where to begin our search. Anyway, it is camouflaged quite well. It is in the centre of the photo and two tentacles can clearly be seen reaching to the right of its body. Follow the tentacles to the left and just past the point where they attach, you will see an eye. Any ideas?

Does it swim? Looks like a blenny! LOL!
Very odd. Could you post some other angle shots?

My vote is a spionid worm that has been encrusted with stuff and the eye is just a natural dark spot. Looks like it blends in with the surrounding algae.

It is the only shot that we have. It moved right after that photo and we haven't been able to locate it since. Not sure how to describe the movement other than it didn't crawl like a crab nor did it swim like a regular fish, it just scurried away quickly. It is very small and not much more than 1/4 - 5/16 inch long. We have the impression that the tentacle things are actually some kind of a lure, but we do not know that for sure. Our observation time was short. We just didn't have the opportunity to study it for much longer than a minute.

Good evening! We have been scouring for something to help us ID the critter that we found in our tank. We have found a few photos from "Chucks Addiction" (Chuck's Addiction) that have some similarities.

Some type of unidentified crab.

We are still trying to get a better photo of the critter in our tank. Maybe it is a crab? Still hoping someone might know what it is!
