Rsm 250 Lid Hinges

On my 250, the hinges that lift the lid (the whold lid, NOT the front or feeding part) are EXTREMELY sqeaky. Am I the only one with this noise? It has been the least of my worries so far as i have been trying to get everything going.
What can i use to eliminate this everytime i open it? Obviously anything i spray on it has a chance of seeping into the tank water. My 3 year old sleeps real close to the tank which is why i would like to silence the noise.

I forget what it was... but Robert in the ER skimmer thread suggested something reef safe... to put on the skimmer that had a tight air valve to loose it up.

Maybe someone will remember... what I am referring to

Use pure silicone grease instead of petroleum jelly since it will probably be more inert, and wont cause the plastics to swell further. I got some at Lowes - in the plumbing section. I'm sure Home Depot or other places would have it too.
