You are correct that it is just water and NOT salt leaving. Only top off your system with plain old RODI water (NO SALT IN IT). About your PH question. Good question. I would top off using RODI water and test your system for PH to see the changes.

Just a quick follow up. I have now been making my own RODI water including SW for my water change. I am getting 000TDS out of my unit and did my water change last night (way after the LFS closed) with a big stupid grin on my face. Why the heck didn't someone make me do this sooner...

That is certainly different. I guess you won't have to worry about salt creep or jumping fish either. :)

Two weeks is too soon to be adding livestock to your tank. What you are seeing on the sandbed my be a diatom bloom (normal for the tank cycle) and what is on the rock is probably some sort of algae. I suspect you are still cycling your tank (posting param readings will probably show that)...

It may be stressed after its journey. Iwould give it a couple days before moving it anymore. If it still doesn't perk up then try moving it to more flow. Was it more or less light in its old location?

How long has your current tank been setup now? If it has only been a couple/few weeks, then what you're seeing on the sand is a normal part of the cycle. If you move everything to the new tank, then you will probably see a bit of a cycle as you will be stirring up the sand bed a bunch...

Let the slappings begin!!! :) How long has the tank been setup? I would take the sponge out for a few days / week and see if things change. When you say you're not overfeeding, how often are you feeding?

I have added it about a cup at a time (a day or two between).
