i have heard that you are unable to use glass top while using one of the zoomed t5 hoods. Anyone here use them before and notice that as well? i would like to get one, on a budget for this addiction as of now so trying to figure out new lighting if anyone can help i have a 30 gallon tank set up no coral just rock and fishes, any ideas on good lighting?

you can use a t5 hood if you like, glass tops tend to collect salt and distort the amount of light getting into the tank so alot of maintenance is required keepin it clean, you only have fish and rock so thats really a little overkill albeit better to promote algae growth i wouldnt personally spend that much on a lighting unit for just fish and rock but thats just me good luck to you sir
