You see, I actively kill off my rocks and dry it out and then spend weeks building the bacteria up and then I simply purchase bags of live copepods and amphipods. At least I know what I've got in my tank, I prefer that. I don't want the crabs, worms and issue you sometimes get especially those dreaded flat worms. I then remove every bit of rock I can if I by a coral and it's on a rock.
Sometimes it's better the devil you know or quite simply, I've had my fair share of hitch hiking issues in the past.
