I battled for months against white spot, I even went so far as to run 3 x 25 W vectron UV sterilisers and even got a 55 W commercial P1 in the end, but nothing seemed to do the trick, I never got over a low level infection.
Then a couple of weeks ago I lost a flat fish that I had more or less from day one and a long nose yellow butterfly within days of each other, within days the white spot disappeared from the rest of my stock. I've waited a week or so to see if the dreaded infection would return and so far it hasn't.
I feel pretty naive asking this question as I'm pretty sure it couldn't be the case, but is it possible that the fish was some sort of carrier or nest for white spot.
