When I purchased my system used it came with a Whirlpool WHER25 RO system. Does anyone know whether it's a decent unit that I should use? Or should I toss it. I've been getting my water from my LFS so far.

It's probably a good unit... however the cost of the filters is 10 times more in some cases. If you had the "standard" filter canisters the sediment/carbon filters can be purchased for 20-30 bucks total which could equal the cost of one filter. Depending on exact specs... just look up the replacement filters and see if they seem expensive. :)

You COULD sell it on Craigslist and use that money to put it toward a new RO.
