I hate being associated with purchasing without prior knowledge but I just picked up this frag.

Any ideas? The guy sold it for 5 bucks and said it likes lower light levels. He gave it a name but I really cant remember.

Looks like a caranation coral. Filter feeder and very hard to keep. If I remember correctly, they like to hang upside down. Like from a ledge or somethin. Mine didn't last long. It was darn pretty though.

Humm sorry but I have to agree with them as well : seems very much like a Dendronephthya ... prepare for the worst, they have almost no zooanxanthele algae therefore no photo requirements meaning that they are filter feeders and hard to find the right food...

hope you tell all us wrong an keep it for the long run : they are one of the, if not the most, beautifull soft corals
