Water change PH maintenance

Hola again. I'm curing my 50 lbs of live rock in the tank and doing 8 gallon water changes every other day. I'm using wellwater of pH 6.7. I have been using freshwater pH-UP up to get to the desired range. It seems pretty quick to do as opposed to adding these buffered mixes everytime! Is this OK for curing?

The salt mix you are using should put it in the correct range. Without using the PH-UP, what are the readings after the salt has mixed for a while?

Let it sit for a while and remeasure. It really needs to be above 7.9 so the living creatures in the rock can survive. As long as the PH-UP is putting it the right range it should work. Temp makes a difference also, you need a heater and powerhead in the water mixing container.

Use RO/DI water even for curing. You could be adding lots of phosphates that will be absorbed by the rock and cause algae outbreaks down the road.
