My Vertex has been working off and on and I have come to the conclusion that it is to big for my RSM 250 and my light bio load. I have recently gone back to my Reef Octopus 110 that I recently got working again. Just for the hell of it I also ordered an ASM Mini G rated for 75 gallons. Both the Reef Octopus and Vertex Omega work best at 6 3/4 inches of water that happens to be 2 egg crate stacked in my sump. I have noticed that they both perform better when more than 1/2 of the water outlet is above the water line. I plan on running the Mini G and the Octopus in the sump together to see what skimmer pulls the best gunk.
