This morning when I woke up my Tunze Wavemaker’s ballast sounded like a smoke alarm so I unplugged it. Anyone know why? I am still at work was wondering if anyone could give me some helpful information. I will look at the manual when I get hope. Thanks for any advice I can get…

On my tunze steams I now that if one does not start (impeller stopped) the blue box buzzes as a warning. Not sure if the wavemaker does the same thing but I would assume so. Make sure it is clean and nothing has gotten in it.

I found this on the website... page 49 of the instruction manual

Automatic shut-down
Blocking and run-dry protection with alert
sound:
When the pump is blocked, an alert sound
(continuous sound) is released by the driver
(2), at the same time the pump is switched off.
After the blockage has been removed, the
pump is started again automatically after a
delay of 20 seconds. When the pump runs dry,
another alert sound (beep tone) is released,
the pump continues to run at low protective
speed. When the pump draws water again, the
beep tone will go off.
Warning ! This warning sound is not audible
when the Wavecontroller is used. Nonetheless,
there is no danger of overload in case of
complete blockage as the driver operates at 50
per cent of the performance possible on
account of the Wavecontroller.

Just some guy, you know?
CA deposits can build up in the pump and cause excess drag on the impellers. When this happens too much the driver or wavemaker (I forget which) set off a very anoying alarm,.. and there is NO way to shut it up without cleaning the pump. I had to clean one at 4 in the AM one night,.. I was not ammused lol.
