Has anyone ever used Tufa rock in a reeftank?
I had never given it any thought until I was at skintastics yesterday.
I noticed some med to large sized pieces very porous, very light and a good price. I've done a little research since and found that its a calcium carbonite structure.
My question is, if seeded with good live rock outside of a tank (say... 2 or 3 months in a couple rubbermaid trash cans with water movement, actinic light, regular water changes and supplements) would it become nice live rock?
If so I'm calling Blue Max Materials and getting 200 lbs.
