I had a bad outbreak, that looks like it aptasia, AKA Glass same thing. It looks a little light but there are variations. Kill it!
They still are coming back & I read so much! I ordered Joes Juice, from JoesJuice.com, it is said to be the best. After my order he replied twice. They say this stuff kills them permanently. Kalk paste works but leaves chance for them coming back & they will. Copperban, peppermint shrimps are options but when they bite, some parts gets away to grow more elsewhere. I had a bad outbreak because I didn't know what it was but then it was popping up everywhere! UGGGGGG!

I found some in my tank about a month ago. I then left them alone because I was being lazy and I did not have a needle. I have been trying t use the kalk paste method, but at this point there are little POS all over the place. Man oh man, I wish my BTA would split like this.

Some of them I have hit 3-4 times and they seem to grow. Damn them. :(

This headache all because I let someone store a piece of rock in my tank for a week. Last time I will ever be nice. lol

Jakets,

Thanks. One of our forums is going to be an "ID" forum. This post will certainly get moved there when it's up.

Thanks!!

not sure but that could be some form of Phymanthus sp (sand anenome), if it is it is safe for reef, but maybe not for small fish

I'm with Scooterman. Joe's juice has done grat things to my aptasia!:dead: :dead:
I tried mixing up some of the Mrs Wages pickling lime, the aptasia acted like I had fed them vitamins. Joe's Juice had killed every one I'v "fed" it to. It sure does look like kalk though!

I've had my share of aptasia and I was successful with peppermint shrimp. I have had one come in on a small piece of live rock that is in my 'fuge, I will be getting rid of him soon....of course if any of you really want him, I'll be happy to send him to you...LOL

This is quite funny.

I posted this as a joke. on another site (nameless) I found that everyday there was two or three posts from people that wanted ID of Aptasia. It drove me nuts. No one would open a book of Search the site for previous posts. Some times there would be three post on the main page all about Aptasia ID.

I know a lot of new people join forums all the time and if they are new to reefing a strange hitch-hiker would warrant a post.

But I assumed all who joined here in the pre-opening days would get my joke.:smirk:

I had an apastasia. Don't try to take them out your self. They will break in to more and they sting the coral.

[Looks like my 9 y.o. daughter got in here on my screen name. The little rascal. Her screen name is Splendid.]
