switching to DE Bulbs, any opinions?

I am going to switch over from Single end bulb to DE.
I have heard DE put out more PAR.
I will be ordering two mounting brackets from hellolights.com to install them.
I was told I need a UV shield, where would I get one?
Plus what bulb you think would be good. Maybe 10K XM.

What do you guys think? Should i go DE?

I have heard nothing but good about those ballasts. At one point when I was having a real hard time finding my electronic ballasts, my next choice was going to be HQI ballasts to run the radiums.JMHO

DE par is about the reflector and the fact that the hqi ballasts . I don't think you will see great improvements in par without specific DE reflectors. Check out the reef optix ones.

ive never had mh's period but im starting with the hqi lights
i still havent installed the lights yet but i did wire up the hqi ballast and vho ballast together so that its running from one switch
what im plannin on doin for the refector is to get a floodlight housing and cutting out holes to fit the sockets
this way you also get the uv shield (piece of glass)
