Sump baffle height

I am adding a sump using my old 29g tank. I will use 1/4" glass baffles. What height should the final baffle be relative to the one before it? Assuming I have calculated the right return capacity if the power goes off, suction is interrupted, etc. what difference does it make regarding the height? I have added a word attachment of my ppt drawing.
thanks

I have updated the plumbing in the drawing. Since this is my first, I would appreciate any suggestions. :) After I get this down pat, I will work on my plans for the overflow to supply the return lines. Hope to add SCWD in Aquarium supply.
Thanks

Dave, Right! I am assumming taller is better, provides most options later on. I will go with 14" then. I calculate that I have 1.6 gallons for every inch of the tank- (30X12X1)/231. At 14" the sump could hold between 4.8 gal and 6.4 gal of backflow when I shut off the pump.
Thanks for the comment
