im looking to build a sump for a 60 gallon tank and was curious if i got a pump that lets say 1200 gph is that to much is there any such thing as to much water movement the sump is gona be a 20 long
im wanting to do an overflow seup i dont kno much about sumps but im building this 60 g from the ground up so im tryingto get away from the canister filter
I'm putting a Mag 18 on a 50g tank... with the head loss, it should be around 1200gph as well. I'll let ya know for sure, but you should be good. As long as you don't have any "weak swimmers" like seahorses, you can use quite a good bit of flow from a return pump.
