Okay. Set up the one 24 with plenty of liverock, sand and shells. I fully expected to find some cool things on the liverock in a couple of weeks, but nothing prepared me for what I found this morning when I woke up.
Keep in mind that this liverock went from the lfs tank into a bag (no water). Within 15 minutes, I had placed it all in my tank, intending to rearrange it once I was sure I had all the rock I wanted. I am hesitant to arrange it too much as there is a firefish in there right now.
So, last night I saw the strangest rock sitting under the large piece of liverock that has a little bridge under it. Thought a piece must have come loose. Cool...looks neat. Oh, wait...could be the firefish.
Woke up this morning and was looking in the tank to see what I wanted to do with it and if I would need more rock today. All of a sudden, out to the front comes this long yellow thing with eyes and a serious frown. I hadn't the faintest idea what it was so I called the store. She gave me a couple of ideas and after researching on the web, I discovered it is a yellow watchman goby. Had to check that twice. Fortunately, when he would see me looking in, he would come to the front of the tank and pose for me.
We can only figure that he was hiding in one of the many holes in the largest piece of rock. I did know that there was either a crab or snail hiding in one already, but never, never figured something else was lurking in the dark.
So now I have a watchman goby and know nothing about them.
