hey, so i don't have a picture of this guy, but i'll describe him. it's definitely not a bristle worm.
- it's dark brownish red in color
- definitely segmented
- about 1/2 cm in width, about 4-5 cm long
it has a small protruded section of the head, but no visible head bristles or apendages or anything.
here's the weird parts
- there are definite bristles on the sides of the body, but not on the anterior "head" area (about 1 cm long, and fatter than the body). and, as it was swimming, they seemed to be acting like cilia.
- when provoked, it raises up its head, opens its "mouth" and two large fang-looking things come out!!! scary.
i was cleaning out my tank and suddenly it just appeared on the water's surface, wiggling around, swimming like a tadpole.
i removed it cause it's just tooooo weird to leave in my tank, esp. because i don't wear gloves.
but i'm super curious about what it is.
ID please? i know not having a picture makes it tough, but if you post pictures i know it can recognize whether its the same or not...
thanks!
