Starting Fresh, i mean Salty.... My NEW 80 Gallon upgrade!

Hey guys, So ive been around this place for just about a year, ive had some trials and tribulations with my tank. Ive found out, you buy cheap, you buy twice. and now its time for me to upgrade and to do it right!

Im picking up my new (to me) 80 gal tank from someone on Kijijijijijijijijijijiji with stand and hood for $200. Recently I picked up a 20 gal tank with 25lb of rock for $60 (rock was covered in Aptasia). PERFECT for a sump/fuge!

I recently had quite the crash and lost all but my 2 clowns and Zoa's, this makes the move alot easier.

For lighting I just bought a GLO fixture with 2 T5HO bulbs with individual reflectors. I plan on running them both with my t8 antinic and powerglo.

Few questions before i start taring things apart.

I have 55gal of salt water already in my DT that i plan on using. I have about 10gal in my 20 gal tank that im curing. I figure i should use as much of my dt water as possible in the other tank, but I should try to keep the rock as covered in water as much as possible.

Whats the best way to make the move?

heres what i was thinking!

1 - Go fishing, remove my livestock and put in a bucket full of DT water.
2 - Siphon, say 10-15 gal into the new tank
3 - move over my old sand and new sand (old sand with siphon)
4 - Siphon enough DT water to leave my LR covered to new tank
5 - move rock over
6 - siphon rest of the DT water to new tank
7 - install current HOB filter, Skimmer, PH's
8 - Fill the tank with new SW
9 - re-introduce livestock to new home
10 - plumb sump and fuge
... enjoy!

hows that sound?
