SPS splitting white thing

i will try to post photo in a week time , i will try to capture the macro mode as clear as possible cuase it too tiny .

Let me try to understand. You added a new SPS and then it put out little white strings? Or you have two SPS almost touching and putting out little strings? Either way it's probably what their guts are made out of. I can not remember the correct term for it, m- something, but they are what the corals use to digest things and to defend themselves with. They will stick them out when they want to string something nearby or are not happy. I usually see it when I've accidently crushed a SPS branch or when they are trying to encrust and put them out to kill the coralline algae around their base.

Thank you! I could for the life of me remember! I feel so silly calling them the corals "guts". lol.
