I woke up this morning, ready to begin final preparations for our Holiday gathering scheduled for today, to find out that it had rained 2 1/2 inches last night. That's probably not really exciting to lots of you, but we live in Northern Minnesota! After the 2 1/2 inches of rain, the storm turned to an ice storm, then a snow storm. The party was cancelled, and I took some photos today. Thought you might enjoy! I'm still learning how to use my new camera, the Sony Alpha 100.

All photos with kit lens (no macro or telephoto)

I wandered around outside for a bit -

Then, I went into the reef - Much nicer in the Reef!

I took alot of others, but I'm still trying to figure out how to set the camera to get the best results with the different lighting....

Have a terrific night!

I used the kit lens, Sony's 18-70 mm lens. This type of bird, the chickadee, is unbelievably brave/curious. Several would fly to the feeder or to the tree just 6 feet away, so the shot looks harder than it is! Cute little birds.
