Snail???

Hey everybody at RS, First off, HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
OK now to the question, I have been looking around the ID sites and have not been able to find what I think is a snail. May be it isn't a snail, because I don't really see them moving around. They are on the glass and a few of them are on the rocks. Could some body ID it? Is it reef safe? Also in the same pic is a copepod, just below and to the right of the snail looking thing, just to give a size reference.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

That is a spirorbid polychaete. They are harmless filter feeders, and are usually in abundance in a newer system. Often times you will find them attached to the back glass, in overflows, and on pumps. Here is an article that mentions them. They can be distinguished by the coiled tube: Sedentary Polychaetes, Con't.

Hope this helps

NaH2O,
Hey, thanks for the link. They are on the front glass and the back, since the tank is in the wall, it is viewable from both of the rooms the wall seperates.
I guess they are going to be scraped off for viewing purposes.
Thanks for the help,
Steve
