I found this weird looking shell less snail looking thing in my QT tank? Any idea what this is? Nudibranch, good, bad?

They have a shell but it is covered with a thin membrane. That whitish patch you see behind the head is what's left of their shells: The sheathing over the shell gives them the appearance of being shell-less.

The large bump covering nearly have the upper portion of it's body is the internal shell.

I see. I think I have some smaller ones and they have a shell. So they outgrow it as they mature? Interesting. Thanks for the info!

If you touch them their tail will fall off and wiggle while they get away. A lot of critters and fish will eat them.

Have one in my tank, see it almost never but a couple times I caught it up high spreading it's seed into the current. Part of the CUC basically.

I had one cruising around on my skimmer. Then I accidentally killed it when I took the skimmer out for maintenance and didnt see him hiding on it. Snails +vinegar=dead snail. :(

I hope he had a family.

I have located a second one. Will these proliferate in the tank?
