skimmer air line adj.

what are you guys using to regulate the air/water mixture for your red sea berlin protein skimmer. ive been using plastic air line control valves but there junk. also why is it so hard to trim the setting? im skimming to wet and theres air bubbles in the exiting water.currently its unplugged.

Hey Tuna, can I call you Charlie?? home despot carries john guess valves, white plastic with blue handle. what pump are you useing? Make sure both outflow holes are in use. You may need to slow down the flow with an inline valve or try cutting back the air, these skimmers are tough to set up, a pic of the set up may help. Steve

well i have been using this skimmer for a long time,but perodically i have to change the air hose and valve. also i have to blow inthe new hose real hard at first it must get clogged with dust or maybe salt. the pump came with the unit.

Tuna , sounds like salt creep in the hose and hosebarb ,replace it or try flushing with vinager( while off the unit!) Steve
