shutter spped for fish shots

What shutter speed do you shoot (pics) your fish at? I can go as fast as 1/1000 sec. Also my new cam (toshiba PDR-M700) has some rapid shoot modes. Do you recommend these? I'll continue experimenting

If using the flash I typically shoot between 1/250th and 1/500th, if I'm not using the flash, I up the exposure compensation (might also increase the ISO to 200) and shoot as fast as I can and still have light in the pic. Depending on where in the tank it is and what aperture is needed for a decent DOF usually 1/60 - 1/125.
