hi all

after a while caring for the 130d and a year busy last year and a half I've moved to London and purchased a RSM250.

With my 2nd hand 250 I got two skimmer pumps? 1 hydor and 1 sicco. unfortunately both appear not to be working. is there any typical faults with the pumps? they haven't run for two months. could they be seized?

cheers

take them apart and soak all the parts in vinegar.

Great call. After they set in vinegar for a bit try turning the pumps on. Fyi I had 10 or so non working maxi jet pumps n after a days vinegar soak all 10 r working.

+1^ Soak then test. Put the Siccne back in the tank not the Hydor they are long know trouble makers. Good luck!

Hi all

thanks for the tips. I'll buy a big bottle of vinegar today and get it soaking. What is the best way to remove the propeller?

The Impeller is in the case, you need to take the cover off (Twist) then just pull it forward. If these are locked up, Soak them first them remove it. Once you get it torn down completely soak it all again. Have fun!
