Reverse Siphon

I just hooked up my ATO. the reservoir is sitting right next to the sump and the freshwater goes directly in the sump. After the pump shuts of, i feel that there is a very little reverse siphon. How can i stop this? i dont want another spill so i turned the ato off until i get something to stop it.

any ideas?

Its a plastic tubing that takes the fresh water to the sump, maybe i have to get something to fit there?

Just raise the end of the tube so it's above the water level. I have mine in the filter sock. It won't siphon any higher than the sump level (water will reach an equal level in the sump and ATO supply container). If the ATO supply container is filled so the level is higher than the sump level it won't back siphon. But I just keep the end of the ATO out of the sump water. You can get a check valve, but seems like more trouble than it's worth. Most ATO use a pretty small pump so there usually isn't much noise from the water squrting above the surface.
