Supposedly the non color changing is supposed to be mildly better. But the dye hasn't seemed to affect anything from my point of view. and it's only like a dollar or two more. I think the dye is water soluable and comes out at a few parts per billion from what I understand. If you are paranoid about getting stuff in your reef tank use the non color changing.

I bought an add on DI unit from buckeye.com for under $40 including resin/refillable cartridge. That's also where I buy DI resin from. It's a great site, very good prices and service.

That will be the way I go for sure. My current di is a color changing resin but I don't think it's refillable... ummm... what color does it turn when exhausted? :dunno:
