Removing the RSM 130D Surface Skimmer Grate

Raymo did you ever find a "solution" to the lack of a seal between the grate and the glass? I'm about to remove mine to give it a good soak and cleaning but want to make sure I have it all ready before taking it apart.

i don't recommend removing it. i bought black aquarium silicone to reseal it, so i had to do this on a (near) empty tank. a good scaping is better than a perfect cleaning since the latter requires removal.
