I recently purchased the Red Sea Reef Foundation Pro test kit. The kit includes tests for Ca, Mg, and KH.
Most of the tests involve titration - you add a drop at a time of a reagent and wait for the color to turn from the start color to the finish color. For example, the card for the KH test shows a start color of turquoise and a finish color of orange. When I'm adding drops, the color start at blue, then becomes sorta orange all the sudden, then five or six drops later becomes more orange but never really looks like the exact shade on the card.
When is the correct time to stop adding drops and take the reading? When there is the first dramatic color change, or when it looks closest to the finish color on the card?
