There is just one thing I worry about...I dont get to see it or hold it, and that its a NO NAME cheapy brand, would it be worth it?

I have had several Cpr refugiums in the past and they are very well built. For about 30-40 more dollars and a gaurantee on a good product. Marine depot has them on sale.. CPR AquaFuge 2 Hang-on Refugium, Medium, Hang On Back External > Refugiums > Saltwater Aquarium Supplies


That one on ebay might be fine... But like you said you just never know.

well no not really, just a little extra from each week saving up thats all....I take what cash I have left over when I get my new paycheck and keep it safe.

so, its like this...spend $100 and it really sucks because its cheap, or spend $109 +$30 for CL fuge light, + sm pump, or end up spending BOTH.

Another scrubber option you might look at is a Turf Algae Filter Screen, either in a bucket, or suspended over your sump. They are extremely powerful, and will usually get your nitrate and phosphate down to zero in three weeks:
