I posted this on another thread that was not 100% relvent but I haven't gotten any answers so im starting this one.

We have been having the all 4 seasons in a week weather. Yesterday I got home and it was 75 in the house so I turned the AC on. Last night it got down to 30s and I forgot to turn heat on before bed. this morning it was 50 in the house. I looked at the tank and the pulsing xenia is not as spread out as it usually has been its all straight up and clumped together. The color is normal. Its pulsing a little slower. Should I be concerned?

Is this normal behavior?
Could the temp drop cause it?
or could it be something else?

Somewhat depends on how much the tank temperature varied, which sounds like it could have been quite a bit. Stability is key in reef tanks and usually temp swings of greater than 3 degrees in a 24 hour period can be detrimental to tank inhabitants.

On the other hand, pulsing xenia is a very resilient coral and it may just be pouting a little bit.
