protein skimmer for nano-reef

I am atempting to add a protein skimmer to my Biocube 8 gall. Problem is the ones made by Oceanic only fit the 14 and 29 gallon sizes. Try as I might I could not get the PS to fit in mine. When placed inside the aquarium, the chamber fills with water, very little bubbles. When placed in bioball area, not enought water to fill bottom of skimmer. I am considering a Fission skimmer bu the illustration loooks like it will not fit and allow the hood to close. Any suggestions???

If it'll fit in the bio balls chamber, just add more water until it's enough.

I have a Biocube 14 and fill it way past that fill line... I think that fill line is only needed if you're running the wet/dry with the bioballs.

Don't waste your money on the Fission. It's a piece of junk. Frankly for an 8 gal, I would forget the skimmer & do water changes to keep your water quality up.

i had the fission and its horrible (now i have the oceanic and love it!) if the Oceanic dont fit...sell it and but a light upgrade
