Hey there.. ok so I am trying to get everything set up.. but I want to have all of my ducks in a row before I get water and start cycling...

this question is on powerheads.. I want to get one and put them on either side of my 90g tank. I want to know though what strength to get? do I get 2 of the stronger ones or 2 of the mids? I am looking to have a reef tank and do not know how strong those need to be flow wise.

This isn't really what you are asking, but it's what I know.

I've been running one of these for 2 years in my 65g and it's been awesome.

I run it on a pretty low setting, so I think it might be OK for a 90. If not, you could always get a second one or get the RW-15 instead of the RW-8.

I'm just not familiar with the koralias. Sorry.

Get the larger ones. SW reef systems generally like a lot of flow. Also part of their function is to keep the flow up, and keep dirt from accumulating in the tank.

While we are on the subject, these are not going to compare to the EcoTech or the Tunze wave pumps and controller, but then they don't cost anywhere near as much.

Oh I know the Tunze are awesome and down the road they might be something that I will invest in but at this time I am going to go with this. I am very proud of myself for not going nuts and rushing this project so far.

That is correct. You don't want to fall into the trap of getting lots of expensive equipment right off or if you don't really need it.
