pod hunting at the beach

I'm thinking about heading down to the beach this weekend and see if I can capture some pods to stock up in the refugium. Didn't have much of a plan but to go down with a small net and a clear container.

Any tips, suggestions or warnings before I do? It's the Pacific ocean, such as it is anyway with the runoff from the El Segundo processing plant just down the coast.

Polluted water no doubt but I figure anything that can survive the runoff from the LA river has a shot at surviving in my tank. Wasn't going to introduce any ocean water to the tank though, if I manage to catch any I was just going to net them.

its your tank inhabitants i would be worried about, you can introduce bad temperate water things that your tropical fish aren't immune to
