I'm setting up a 300gal reef tank. Do I need a uv sterilizer ? I've heard good and bad: they kill unwanted parasites, and that they kill alot of good stuff to. This being the bad. Is it true. If it is not then I was going to get the biggest turbo twist,is this a good one. In what order do you put it in plumbing?

Here's a previous thread with some links about UV Sterilizers: Do I Need a UV Filter?

I like the use of UV. It only zaps good things if they happen to make their way through the unit. You don't, however, "need" a UV Sterilizer to have a great tank. I don't have any experience with the turbo twist - I have the AquaUV Sterilizer. If I had the additional space for another pump, I would have put it on its own loop to the tank, but since I was limited I put it on the return.
