If you buy a blue parrot and it turns red was it dyed or few something special or ???

Back in the 80's dyed glass fish were real abundant. I remember seeing them in blue, pink and green. Guess some things never change.

People do some messed up stuff with Parrot cichlids. I think one variation is called a "Heart Parrot" or something, where they basically tie the tails off. And of course there's the usual dyeing and tatooing. The breed itself is kinda sad, I wish I would have looked into it more before I got mine. Mine is gorgeous, but they really are anatomically messed up...

It's bad enough that we see some really deformed fish being sold, but painting them is a really cruel thing to do. IMHO it's right up there with using cyanide to capture fish.
