overflow box & sump

i have built a sump with a 3100 pump and a hang on over flow box. why is that my water in my sump gets lower and my water in the tank get higher what do i do.
how do i balance the main tank and the sump without the main tank overflowing and flooding out

I don't know to much about all of this but is it possible that the overflow box is not large enough or the siphon tube needs to be larger. I believe its all about getting the right balance with the pump and overflow box.

On average most overflow boxes will only accomidate around 600-700 GPH. You may have to get 2 or more overflow boxes or ones with larger piping to match your pump. Remember its ok to have 1 extra overflow and tweak it there then to try and adjust the piping from the pump and stessing your pump more.
