For some reason I found that disturbing and funny at the same time.
Not sure why.
I saw a vid once that was identical except it was a lobster.
I imagine its the only way to have an edge in Japan for "freshest" fish.

To have your food watching you eat them? Hmmmmmm.

There is a video out there (I think I saw it on this site once) of a chef who fillets a fish and then puts it back in a tank still alive. Not my cup of tea, but I have cleaned my fair share of fish, so who am I to judge. The only real difference is I throw the heads away and I cook it before I eat it.
