optimum placement of powerheads?

my tank has been set it for just over a week. im playing arround with my power heads to minimize dead zones. i rum a red sea max 250 and i added a koralia 3 for the extra flow. i also have a very small sand bed 2'' to 3'' and that only arround the rock since i have eggcrate under my rock.

my question is where should they be pointed to, in order not to have spots in my tank where the sand is blasted off??

You may be better off going with (2) smaller koralia's and playing with their direction. Just a thought.

Hey JOHNY,

I've found that no matter where I point them, sand is flying around somewhere. What you can do is get a heavier grade sand, and put a small layer over your current sand. That way it's weighted down a bit and won't blow around. :spinner:
