I broke my skimmer yesterday. I was wondering if i can go a week with out one, or should i run to the lfs and get one of their overpriced ones? Right now all i have in the tank is 70 pounds LS, 50 pounds LR, and a small cleanup crew of 1 blue legged hermit, 4 turbo snails, 2 fighting conchs, and 1 nassius snail.
I can order the remora c for 150.00 or pay 200.00 ath the lfs.

I agree ... some algee killers require you to leave the skimmer off for a few days ... with a small to medium bio load you should be more than fine

pff I've gone a week. Ive seen a few tanks (some LFS's that I frequent) that have been running but not skimming for months lol.

not wanting to hijack but... yeah you could try fixing it ... i got a ton of water proof epoxi holding my Ca reactor together

i was doing a mod and broke the small inner venturi pipe.It broke jagged at the base . i cant get the broken piece out to replace it with the shorted piece i was gonna use. oh well, guess if i would have bought a quality skimmer in the beginning i would not have been modding anyway. just happy i can survive until the new one gets here...thanks for the piece of mind.
