What do you think of this modification?
After I had my tank set up for a week i started to worry about my live rock falling if something dug under it, so I drained the tank and took out all the rock and sand(which eliminated the concern, but made for a boring tank :) )

I then use egg crate and PVC pipe to make a support for the rock. I was happy with the result until today when iread another post that implied trapped water was death to the tank.

Would this be any different than a deep sandbed- it seems like stagnent water would be at the bottom of the deep sand bed??

My concern is the water under the pipe- which are drilled every 2"

Thanks

Why not just put down your rock before you put in sand... then nothing can get under

We used to use these years ago we called it a plenum I believe. Turned ugly with nitrates.

........wet floors add character.
