Noisy return pump

Hi everyone I have just setup the Red Sea max nano and wondered if anyone can help me, I’m having problems with the return pump, it’s so noisy, if I just put it in the main tank it’s almost silent but when it’s where it needs to be it’s really noisy, I’ve tried covering it with foam but it’s still the same, is there a better quieter pump I can buy or is it just that it’s in a small space and probably vibrating off the aquarium. I would really appreciate some help if anyone has any ideas.

Often if a pump touches anything, that becomes a sound board and tends to amplify the noise the pump makes. Often you can stop this by keeping the pump away from all surfaces. One way to do this is to suspend the pump using nylon string.
