New Mantis Tank Plexi Build

I've decided to take down my 56 gallon but I don't want to waste the stand that I built for it. So the plan is to ditch the 56 and build a drilled plexi with the same dimensions only slightly shorter. The 56 is 23" tall so I was thinking of roughly 18 - 20" high instead.

My thoughts are to connect my 150 and the new tank together. Is their any reason why that would be considered a bad idea and what should I be thinking in terms of connecting the two? I have never had 2 tanks running on the same system but from all that I've read here it is the way to go.

Thanks

DO IT!!

The only real issue is if your sump will hold all of the overflow from both DTs if there is a power outage.
