New codium macro w/ hairs coming out?

Hello there. This has been in my tank for about two weeks now but on the second day its like it started growing hair algae out the top of it. Is it dieing, going sexual, growing? I know its not hair algae because i dont have any anywhere else in the tank its algae free except for the macros. Anyone have experience w/ codium macros out there who knows how to grow it?

I had green stems growing out of my new live rocks that ended up being fern algae. While trying to get rid of it I got an algae bloom and green water so thick you couldn't see into the tank.

I have this algae. It does that from time to time, nothing to worry about. My Hermits go CRAZY eating the fuzz. Pray tell, where did you get it?

Completely natural for codium to grow fuzz like that.

However, given codium's texture, hair algae can also start growing on it like that, it'll eventually cover it and kill it. So just keep an eye on it to make sure its Codium's natural fuzz.
