New addition of phos ban reactor

This might be a dumb question but,
I just added a phosban gfo reactor 3 days ago
And I put about a half inch thick of gfo
I have a rsm 130d with a lifereef overflow and sump
I've had a pretty bad GHA break out so I decided to
Use the phos ban reactor
Then my protien skimmer (tunze 9002)
Is not skimming anymore at all
Any advice would help.

Maybe the gha and gfo are consuming everything?

Funny thing, my skimmer skims more since I added my phosban reactor. Doesn't make sense but I swear it does. I'm chalking it up to coincedence

I added some bagged media that has carbon and gfo and whatever other stuff and my skimmer works better than ever. But idk if it was caused by me doubling the flow through my sump though.
