New 40 Gallon Fuge Design

I bought a used 40 gallon tank from the Salvation Army thrift shop for 10 bucks yesterday. I figured I can turn it into a refugium for my 240. I'm looking for suggestions on its design. The pic below is my current vision, but the tank hasn't been drilled yet or anything.

If that is your main sump/refugium I'd say it's a little small for a 240. I run a bigger one than that on my 120. Nice design though, I like it.

What would be the benefit of a larger size? I'm new to reefkeeping, so I honestly don't know.

Typical sump/refugium is 1/3 the volume of the display.

For a 240g tank, you need about 80g or 90g for the sump/refugium. I've seen people do it with a 55g though.
