Yea! I finally got some new lights. These just went on my 50 gallon. It looks like it is actually about 36.25 inches wide (not 36"). I wasnt able to put the sides back on my canopy due to that extra quarter inch...Im gonna have to do some modifications.
I took 2 photos using the same exposures so you could see the difference in the lights. I set up the first shot for proper exposure to the old lighting which was a 24" Coralife Aqualight. It had 2 65W CF bulbs. One was 10,000K the other actinic.
Here is the old 24" Coralife Aqualight
Then I put the new light on, left the exposure the same and took a picture of the new T5s. Here is the new light
Of course in real life the light doesnt bleed out like that...it is just over exposed in that shot but I wanted to show a comparision of the brightness of the new lights. Awesome!!
Also, the sides are off of the canopy in the second shot which is why so much light is spilling onto the walls.
