Netting for wave makers/powerheads

I have a wandering anemone so I used to cover my wavemakers with a mesh media bag which were really too big and bulky . Then I remembered I had this thread spool netting and tried it. It works great. Like the mesh bag, you have to shake/blow detritis off it but it's a lot finer than mesh, easy and cheap and one batch will probably last a lifetime or 2 or 3....

I almost got rid of it as I don't like it on the spools--too hard to really see colors or most of my embroidery spools of thread are not really fat enough. So glad I kept it.

This is what it looks like before used and in my tank. It's a flat tube that stretches out. I just rubber band to the cord and leave plenty of length

Anyway, a lot easier than trying to build cages out of various other materials20170331_142632_resized.jpg . Wish it came in black though20170331_141957_resized.jpg 20170331_142617_resized.jpg
