Nepthea and bubble algae

I was blowing some detritus off my rocks today and i caused my 5" Nepthea to close up and noticed one of the stalks has a 1/4" bubble algae spore halfway underneath where the stalk attaches to the rock. I dont think I can remove the algae w/o damaging the stalk. It looks like the stalk might grow right over the bubble, so should I just let it go?
